First Holy Communion
Children who are in Year 4 (or older) are all invited to join our parish programme of preparation for making their First Holy Communion.
The course is taught by catechists through a series of fun sessions on Sunday mornings in the parish centre, next to the church. The sessions start at 9:40am, but we ask children to arrive by 9.30am at latest so they are ready to begin their session. They finish at 10.20am in time for families to attend 10:30am Mass, if they wish. The children and young people are taught in small groups and learn through readings, role-play, stories and activities which follow the “I Belong” book.
Each year the Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated in February and the Sacrament of First Holy Communion takes place in May in St. Barnabas Cathedral, Nottingham.
Unfortunately, due the current Corona Virus Crisis are First Holy Communion Programme is currently suspended. We are hoping Sessions after February 2021 half term. Enrolment for 2022 will be in the Autumn of 2021.
