Our New Community
The Community of The Annunciation of Rushcliffe
A shortlist of Parish names was given to Bishop Patrick this Summer, who decided the Annunciation would be a suitable name for our new four church parish. But until the canonical process has been completed, we are now part of ‘The Catholic Community of The Annunciation, Rushcliffe.’
All four existing churches will retain their present names; we will still be Holy Spirit and Our Lady of Grace, but the family of four churches together will be known by the new name. And why “The Annunciation”? This was the day when Our Lady, the daughter of St Anne, was filled with grace and with the Holy Spirit. The day marked a new beginning in the story of salvation. Margaret Clitherow died on 25th of March, which is the Feast of the Annunciation.
We will then eventually become the Parish of Annunciation once the canonical process is completed. The next Steering group meeting be on Monday 12th September at Our Lady of Grace.
