Dementia Friendly West Bridgford

Following a listening event with various church groups, at the Holy Spirit Church last year, it was suggested that we work towards making West Bridgford more Dementia Friendly.
Churches Together have taken this up as a community project with the initial focus being on asking all shops and businesses on Central Avenue, Melton Road, and Abbey Road to train their as staff Dementia Friends. Churches Together will provide Sessions (free of charge) on an on-going basis. Specsavers have already committed to this with good publicity for their store as a result.
Each church is asking if there are people in their parishes who have links: staff, managers or owners of the businesses with whom we could meet to discuss our request.
There will be more details about this project at the back of church in the next few weeks.
