1. MINUTES OF JUNE 2007 MEETING

Accepted as a true record of the meeting.

2. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE JUNE 2007 MINUTES

a) Plan of church & associated facilities

No progress to report at present.

b) Anti sun film

CH is trying to source this. MG’s husband may be able to help.

  1. Update on Youth Worker
  2. MG reported that work continues with the documentation relating to this post. The group will not meet again until September but aims to have a part time Youth Worker in position by the end of the year.

  3. Liaison between Cotgrave & West Bridgford re. Summer & Autumn Fairs
  4. No progress to report at present

  5. Traidcraft Sales
  6. MC is investigating the feasibility of extending sales of Traidcraft goods in the parish. There is a possibility of testing the market by joining in a shared scheme with Cotgrave, Keyworth and East Leake. This would involve us selling stock which gets rotated round these parishes once a month on a Sunday and MC hopes to start the scheme in Sep/Oct. If there is sufficient uptake it is hoped that we can become independent with our own stock – but potential problems include the storage of goods and the turnover of stock, much of which has a sell by date.

  7. Liquor licence
  8. CH has discovered that we can extend our licence to set up a bar for an event at Cotgrave but we would need to apply for a temporary event licence ( a minimum of 10 working days in advance of the event.)

  9. PPC Renewal

AT reported that the new UCM rep on the PPC will be Joyce Madden.

AM will be stepping down from the PPC this year.

MR informed the group that this year’s Parish AGM will take place on the evening of Sunday 30 September.

3. DEANERY PASTORAL COUNCIL

PeterW reported that this council is at an early stage in its formation but he foresees a potential advantage in the sharing of ideas and resources.

4. OPERATION CHRISTMAS CARD

PeterW and MC volunteered to work on the planning group for this and it was decided to ask for additional volunteers at the August PPC meeting. MD will bring her street record book to the next meeting but pointed out that the data needs to be updated.

5. FEEDBACK

PM reported that a parishioner has expressed concern about the lack of privacy when putting money into the collection basket at Mass. Should we consider switching from basket to "bag with a slot" ?

The meeting was closed with a prayer.

NEXT MEETING: 8pm Wednesday 8 August 2007 in the Social Centre
