How can we do this?

After discussion it was decided that the PPC will continue to support relevant issues brought forward from parish groups e.g. CAFOD, Justice and Peace, Pro Life.

Other actions suggested included

It was also noted that all the Easter cards were taken from the back of the church and delivered. The Holy Spirit PPC had packaged them for all the CTWB. So thank you to all concerned.

4. Clarity on the PPC decision making process.

LB asked for clarity on this process. GT informed the group that:

The Bishop delegates the responsibility of decision making to the Parish Priest to act in his name. The PPC is a consultative body that discusses items on the agenda and any feedback from parishioners and parish groups, so gaining knowledge of the views of the parish. Therefore, if a decision needs to be made and the Parish Priest is absent from the PPC meeting, the Chair will report to him and the decision will then be made.

5. Forthcoming events

The First Holy Communion Masses will be on the first three Saturdays in May 5th 12th + 19th at 12 noon.

7. FEEDBACK FROM NEWSLETTER PPC COLUMN Action LB

A parishioner has asked if we needed an extra Mass on Easter Sunday.

It was reported that there is a lot of glare from the windows at the front right of the church, and the possibility of having stained glass instead of plain glass was discussed. The cost of this will need to be investigated. Action PL

Greeters have been asked to put the mass sheets rather than the newsletter in the hymn book.

The Funeral arrangements for Bishop McGuiness have been posted up at the back of church.

It was with great sadness that we heard of the death of Peter Fooks a member of this PPC. His funeral will be held on Wednesday 25th April at 10.30am.

The meeting was closed with a prayer.
