MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES OF MARCH 2006 MEETING

Youth worker – both Head teachers have been consulted by GT about the youth workers doing consultation sessions at The Becket and St Edmund Campion. BT reported that James Cooper organized two sessions at The Becket School, no one attended the first, but 20 pupils attended the second session. Tom Baptist or James Cooper will be visiting St Edmund Campion on 22^nd June to speak to years 5+6. Feedback will be given to the PPC.
Justice + Peace will be lead by Phil Bonner and the format for this will be discussed at the parish weekend at Critch.
The Bishops visitation will be on the 5^th November ‘06. This will need to be planned as suggested at the last PPC meeting.
The Parish AGM is at 7pm on the 1^st October ‘06 (PM) to coordinate.
Theresa Brennan has agreed to be the parish coordinator for "Care not killing" against assisted suicides.
PPP – Positive feedback has been received from the parish. Excess copies will be sent to St Edmund Campion School for distribution, the SVP and Eucharistic ministers will also distribute them to housebound parishioners.
H+S issues to be brought to the next meeting.
Feedback from the CC procession – Well done to (VA) for all her hard work in organizing the event. Next year it will be lead by the Blessed Sacrament. This will be discussed in detail at a later date.

Agenda Items

Travel Plan – (PL) to investigate appropriate cycle racks for outside the church building and liaise with (Jim H + CH). This will be discussed at the July meeting.

Day for Life – Sunday 2^nd July

A meeting has been called for Tuesday 27^th June to plan the day/weekend masses with people who are disabled (LB+JE).
The SVP group have been asking how the Mass and the church building can be made more accessible; (a) more disabled parking bays, (b) help getting in/out of their cars, (c) larger print in the newsletter and on mass sheets (d) repeater boards for the hymn numbers along the sides of the church.
They would also like attitudes to disability challenged.
The Clergy will inform the congregation and ask for feedback, (PM) to e-mail the PPC to ask them to attend masses that weekend. CH to look into the possibility of having LED displays in the church.

Parish Directory – copies were given out and the PPC members will make amendments and pass them back to (MR) before the next meeting.
PPC feedback – (PL) to circulate.
Diary slot – (PM) to notify the parish about the procedures for standing and voting in new PPC members.
