MINUTES OF THE PPC MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY 8 March 2006 IN THE PARISH SOCIAL CENTRE

  2. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE LAST MEETING

VL gave feedback from the MTG on the 23rd Feb with diocesan advisor Margaret Smidowicz. Many suggestions were made about what should be include in the PPP, after debate it was agreed that the spirit of what people wanted to be expressed in the plan would be incorporated into the mission statement.

There are no strict time frames for publication.

FG said that once it becomes a working document it needs to be ‘lived’ and in a constant state of change.

VL + PW reported that Group leaders have been allocated for each week. The first Mtg is on Wednesday 15th March, any offer of help will be gratefully received.

CH and MD have undertaken a Health & Safety audit of the Social Centre a repot will be ready for the next meeting. Action CH & MD

VA reported that a successful first session was held last week, in future they will be finishing with a prayer.

LB + PL reported that they did not have any responses to the item about the PPC. They plan to continue giving a brief overview of the PPC Mtgs on a monthly basis in the newsletter.

The final draft was agreed and will be on display at the back of church.

AM + JH have organized music and readers

VL suggested that Mary Elliot Smith attends the next PPC mtg for the first 15mins to discuss her ideas for the groups.

It only took 1hr. to package them.

Plan To be put Shrove Tuesday Party 2007 on the September PPC agenda.

IM suggested having a diary slot on the agenda each month, a moving calendar published for the parish and any forth coming events highlighted on the parish website.

VL gave feedback about discussions that she had about the role of a youth worker and how to recruit (details to be e-mailed to PPC).

It was decided that we needed to look at models for youth workers in other dioceses and identify the need for one in this parish. A sub committee will research this. Action VL+BT+LB

      2. MD asked for volunteers to set up a group in this Parish, MC will ask a parishioner and it will be mentioned in the PPC feedback item in the newsletter. MD also asked if all groups in the parish used fair-trade products.

    2. Training for PPC members at Mackworth on 25 February

PW gave positive feedback. This may become an annual event.

Jon H asked about the progress of the travel plan. It will be put on the agenda for April. (JimH+CH are looking into this plan).

BT asked for progress on the sound system for the social centre, a response will be given.
