EASTER CARD UPDATE (Churches together in W.B. initiative)

Some of the other churches are organising the ordering and printing of the cards. Our role at the Holy Spirit is to collate and distribute the cards to the churches for delivery. The timetable we’ve been given is as follows :

Cards arrive at the Holy Spirit – Mon 6 or Tues 7 March

Holy Spirit collates cards – w/c Mon 6 March

Holy Spirit to send cards to churches – Mon 13 March

Churches to distribute cards – Tues 14 March to Fri 7 April

VL to organise production of street name labels Action VL

MR to buy large envelopes for bundles of cards Action MR

CH to organize boxes for the bundles of cards Action CH

Cards will be needed for Wilford (not covered by our Christmas card system) - we’ll need to pack a box of cards and ask St Wilfrid’s to deliver them.

It was decided to collate the cards and pack them in the boxes after the next PPC meeting on Wed 8 March if the cards have arrived – if not we’ll organize a time and volunteers at the PPC meeting.

MR reported that the Act of Witness on Holy Saturday has been cancelled because the croquet lawn on Central Avenue wasn’t available, having been pre- booked by another party.

SHROVE TUESDAY PARTY (Tues 28 February 2006)

It was decided to go ahead with this and open it up to the whole parish – PPC members to encourage their groups to come along.

CH offered (with relish !!) to make enquiries about some entertainment for the evening. Action CH

A.O.B.

1. AT reported that this year’s "Women’s world day of prayer" is coming up. The day of prayer is organised by an interdenominational worldwide group. Eight churches in W.B. are taking part locally and the service will take place at the Friary church at 2pm on Fri. 3 March. Two women from each parish are needed to join the local committee to help organise next year’s event. One representative will come from our U.C.M. and it is hoped that the other could come from a parishioner not in the U.C.M. Please bring this to the attention of your groups and contact AT if interested.

2. IM reported that the new PPC badges will be available in the sacristy this weekend.

3. CH thanked IM for all his efforts and work for the PPC since its conception to now.

The meeting ended with a prayer
