8 July 2009 in the Holy Spirit Presbytery Meeting Room

The meeting was opened with a prayer.

 

PRESENT

MINUTES OF JUNE 2009 MEETING

Accepted as a true record. MC apologised for missing off the present list CT, CV, and RB.

 

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE JUNE MINUTES

The Toddler Group Storage – GT has agreed to a moveable storage cupboard for the boxes of toys to be located in the Bar Lounge. MC will ask Chris Hoban to make it.                                          Action MC

 

Jobs Fair – MC is contacting 40+ people to ask for their help in putting on an Information Weekend on the 5/6 September for the Parish to show which groups exist in the Parish, what they do and hopefully encourage new members. A letter was given to the representatives of the groups present. Action MC                        

 

Relics of St.Theresa – They are coming to the Cathedral on Monday 5th October and will remain overnight moving on again on the 6th Oct. There is to be a preparation evening before the event to be held in West Bridgford at the Holy Spirit Church on Monday 7th September. The Deanery is included.

Dr. Heather Ward is to give a talk on Wednesday 9th September 7pm.

      

Fr. Vincent’s Silver Jubilee – Encourage parishioners to come and bring a contribution for the shared table on Saturday 11th July after 6.30 Mass.

 

PPC Renewal - New members are needed to replace MG and PW whose 3yr term is up. Angela Knott will represent the Mother and Toddler group. JH is stepping down too.                                          Action JH Parish AGM - Sunday 4th October 7pm, Brian Carroll will present the Parish finances.    Action JH & MR

 

A.O.B.

Prayer Taster Sessions are being organised for 9/9/09, 7/10/09 in the Holy Spirit Church and 11/11/09, 2/12/09 will be in the Social Centre starting at 7pm.

Behaviour in Church it is felt that the Sanctity of the Church is not being respected by chatter and eating during Mass, distracting those who need quiet to follow the Service of the Mass and say their prayers. This is obviously a sensitive issue and needs cooperation from all quarters.

It was suggested the Liturgy leaders are asked to talk to the children about quiet behaviour in church, and so give those praying in the Mass, the quiet they need.                                                     Action MC

It was suggested that a box of Holy Books to be available to be loaned out.                           Action MC

It was noted there are only 2 more times to Publish in the Newsletter before the summer break.

The meeting closed with a Prayer.
