MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MAY MINUTES
a) Corpus Christi Procession Date 14-6-09
All went well and KG & MJ were pleased it had been a success. Next year need to apply early in January for a June outing to Rushcliffe Borough Council as the rules are changing.
The order of Procession was kept for future reference.
b) The Toddler Group is experiencing difficulty finding replacement helpers even after GT asked for volunteers in the Newsletter. No one has come forward, so the Mums have set up a rota themselves. A convenient site for storage of the Toddler Group’s boxes is still being considered. Action MC, PW & MES
c) Youth Worker – a part time applicant for the job has been appointed.
d) Jobs Fair - MC mentioned a "Jobs Fair" type event for Groups in the Parish, to get to know each other and to enable better networking within the Parish. She is to think about it and then plan it. 7th September was considered and GT was to email Simon Gillespie’s contact address. Action MC
e) Relics of St. Theresa are in Ireland at the moment.
Note as in last month’s AOB, that 5th October 2009 is to be an all-night vigil at the Cathedral.
Group reps were asked to inform their groups, make the Parish more aware, then feedback to GT / PPC.
St Edmund Campion School are doing an Assembly on St Theresa.
Fr.VINCENT’S SILVER JUBILEE
Fr Vincent is coming to Holy Spirit in July then going to Lourdes. HS Social Club are organising a Parish Celebration with a shared table on 11th July in the Social Centre and all groups are asked to help make it a success.

AOB
JM mentioned CTWB has another Photo Marathon this Summer and are seeking £500 from around the churches for publicity and support to fund the event which is organised at St Giles. £500 already comes from the County Community pot. PARISH PASTORAL PLAN - Discussion from "To help people become more prayerful, personally and as a parish"
The Church teaches Prayer and the Sacraments nurture and enrich the faith of its members.
Our challenge is to how make prayer more relevant to ourselves and in the parish.
May and October the statue goes round the parish - encourage more to participate.
The Library developed from the need for Adult Education. Should more use be made of this facility?
Should it be enhanced with more books to stimulate all sections of the Parish? Will reading help?
Perhaps meet other people to share Bible reading.
Sunday is the Day for Mass in Church. Mass feeds our spirituality.
Church is our source for nourishing a prayerful life.
What helps you to pray?
Pray at home, pray together…"Home is a holy place" try to encourage prayer in any form.
School teaches both formal and informal prayers, encourages writing prayers – prayers learnt at school are usually remembered for life!
What helps you? Quiet time – thoughtful time, over night vigil and exposition? Meditations? A routine?
Praise jointly with Hymns? Prayers organised or in Silence? Private or Shared Prayer?
Formal or off the cuff made up prayer?
Perhaps we should "Google it"
We should discover more ways to pray. Everyone has own needs and ways of praying.
Family and Parish are important to help each other to pray.
Publish in the Newsletter.
Feed back in future from Groups re prayer.
The meeting closed with a Prayer.
Next meeting 8th July 2009 then 9th September 2009 (No meeting in August)
