MATTERS ARISING FROM THE FEBRUARY MINUTES
a) Corpus Christi Procession Date 14-6-09

c) MJ reported (by email) on The Passion Play, which will go ahead on 28th March 8pm after 6.30pm Mass.
SVP are to sell tickets after Mass, Tickets cost £5 to cover costs, with £1 of it going to Fr Vincent’s fund.
A group of 30 actors from Wales will need B&B. Some parishioners have already volunteered their hospitality, but more help may be needed. SVP to take action with this event.
Action JH to talk to GT about funding meal for the visitors in the Hall after the play. The Bar will be open.
d) Youth Worker – no news to report.
e) Feedback from the PPP re thriving Parish. Is the Mission Statement still true for the Holy Spirit?
"Does belonging to the HS Parish assist YOU in your spiritual journey?"
The Cafod Group reported that it is going well now with new members joining. It has gained "Fairtrade" status for the Parish and brought Traidcraft into the Parish with support from GT. The Parish have given generously to Fast Days and the World Gift of a Community Water supply.
There is always room for improvements and we could be more friendly with those around us at Mass. Perhaps GT could ask if the parishioners would move up in the benches to create more room. Perhaps we get too comfortable in our own little space and a move to a different place would enable us to acknowledge other people.
For the UCM KG said when people belong to groups they feel comfortable, being involved is important.
MES shared an email she had, "that we are lucky to have the Sacraments available and the opportunity to discuss the readings helps in getting closer to God."
She still thinks more should be done for the Youth, they don’t find it helpful being in a Catholic community.
DEBT ADVICE WITH CTWB
PW reported on the "Stewardship" meeting he attended held in St. Luke’s Church. It is a Christian organisation giving help/advice to those in debt. More info at www.stewardship.org.uk.
How can we help when we don’t know who needs it? St. Giles already helps and will discuss with Churches Together how to go forward. Training is needed in this area. Outcome = wait for Churches Together to get back on this.
SUPPORTING THE UNEMPLOYED
JH supplied a leaflet regarding "Volunteering in Parishes" A discussion followed – What should /can we do?
Who / how can we help? Use the newsletter to offer support with Job searching, with CV updating and skill training / marketing oneself to help find work. This can be done anonymously if necessary. Also use the newsletter to ask for volunteers to do this service. Do you need help? Can you give help? Action JH
PARISH PASTORAL PLAN Discussion left for the next meeting
AOB
Maria Dabrowska sent an email to GT, MES and MC re the Parish Library after MC had asked her who was to keep it tidy.
